About Vineyard Wealth Group

The Story

I started Vineyard Wealth Group in 2024 because I wanted Islanders to have access to real financial guidance without needing to leave the Island. After years working in the industry, I saw how hard it could be to find advice that was both experienced and down-to-earth. I wanted to build something local, independent, and focused on long-term relationships, not sales.

Background & Credentials

Before starting the firm, I spent nearly 20 years in financial services. At Charles Schwab, I led one of the company’s largest wealth management complexes, managing over $15 billion in assets and a team of more than 30 people. Later, I worked as a Senior Financial Advisor at Martha’s Vineyard Investment Advisors, and Martha’s Vineyard Bank, which helped shape my decision to bring a higher level of service directly to the community I grew up in.

I’m a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and an Enrolled Agent, which means I’m authorized by the IRS to represent taxpayers. I also hold designations as an Accredited Asset Management Specialist® and Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor®. On the technical side, I completed a Six Sigma Black Belt from Arizona State University and an Executive Certificate in Financial Planning from Georgetown University.

The Approach

Vineyard Wealth Group operates as a fee-only, fiduciary financial planning firm. That means we are compensated exclusively by you, our clients, and never by commissions, referral fees, or product sales. As a fiduciary, we are legally and ethically obligated to act in your best interest at all times.

This model matters because it removes conflicts of interest. When your advisor doesn't earn a commission on what they recommend, you can trust that the advice is built around your goals, not someone else's incentives.

Our clients are typically Martha's Vineyard families, Island business owners, retirees, and professionals navigating major financial transitions, whether that's retirement planning, tax strategy, investment management, or estate planning. Many have had financial advisors before. What they tell us is that they wanted someone local who actually knows the Island, who they can call when something changes, and who gives them a straight answer.

What Matters Most

Credentials are important, but what really matters is helping people make thoughtful decisions about their money. That might mean planning for retirement, managing investments, understanding taxes, or getting an estate plan in place. My goal is to be a steady, trusted resource when those decisions need to be made.

Our Office

We opened our first office in West Tisbury in 2024, and in October 2025 we moved to 5 Beach Street in Vineyard Haven, in the old Sports Haven space. It’s been great to settle into a more visible location, and we’re excited to keep growing with the community.

This Island is home for me and my family, and I’m grateful every day to live and work in a place where relationships really matter.
